‘Anxiety’: When Husband Loses Work, Wife Finds a JobMoroccan director Hakim Al Nouri has wrapped up the shooting of his first TV film Qalaq (Anxiety) after the direction of eight narrative films which some recorded smash commercial success, according to the Arabic daily Al Sharq Al Awsat.The drama shot in Casablanca explores the life history of a happy couple. The wife was originally an employee before she decided to quit job and devote herself for raising her children. Nevertheless this happy life quickly turns upside down when the husband looses his job and the wife is spurred to seek a job. Helped by her qualifications, the wife finds a job quickly and so the roles are reversed. Yet this new situation affects the life of the couple due to the society’s strict traditions. The film is produced by the Moroccan TV channel 2 and costarring Yunes Makri, Alia Arkab, Aminah Rashid, Hamadi Amour, Maria Sadeq and Zuhoor Al Suleimani. “The events constitute a nightmare which the film star lives when he learns that his company decides to make changes at the management level. This means that he will be under the threat of loosing job and subsequently imagines the terrible situation which his family will face afterwards,” Makri who plays starring role in the film told the daily. Al Nouri told the daily that the script he wrote was different from all his previous work and will surprise the Moroccan viewer. On the other hand, the director said that there are no Moroccan actors could be described as stars who are capable of monopolizing over the audience. The Moroccan audience tends to view the films of their preferred directors whose previous films have been appreciated rather than the participation of a renowned actor or actress. This is due to the fact that his previous successful films witnessed the debut of all the actors and actresses he nominated including Thurayya Al Alawi, Rashid Al Wali, Rashid Fakkak and Amal Ayoush, who took leading roles in his films including Al Tufoulah Al Mughtasabah (Stolen Childhood), Sareq Al Ahlam (Dream Robber) and Massir Emraah (Woman’s Destiny).
