Ebrahim Mokhtari's ‘Zinat’ Wins Czech Film Festival's Top Prize

Iranian director Ebrahim Mokhtari's film “Zinat” has garnered the Special Jury Prize of the Czech Republic's International Academy Film Festival on Monday, the official Iranian news agency IRNA reports.
“Zinat” tells the story of a young girl who works at a health center in a rural area in southern Iran. She is planning to get married, but her fiancee’s family do not want Zinat to keep her job after marriage. Zinat strives to convince her fiancee, Hamed, that her job will not affect her family life, but to no avail.
Zinat's family also announces they are against Zinat's work at the health center, partly out of fear of offending Hamed's family. Finally, Zinat agrees to give up her job and gets married. The young couple settles down to a calm and happy life, but underneath the calm appearance, conflicts continue to haunt Zinat's relationship with her husband.
One hundred and four films from 25 countries were screened during the week-long festival in Olumus. Mokhtari's other film, “Dreams, Memories” was also screened at the festival and praised by Czech film fans and critics – 9cf81d.com
