Noor al Sherif to Shoot Film on 1967 POWs

Egyptian actor and director Noor al Sherif is gearing up for directing his new film Oum Ya Misri (Stand Up Egyptian) which tackles the 1967 prisoners of war.
Costarring in the film are Mahmoud Hemaidah and a group of new actors. Sherif hopes that Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, Mervat Amin, Mahmoud Yasin, Naglaa Fathi and Pusy will participate as guests of honor.
The film was scripted by Abdel Rahman Mohsen who previously scripted the film Zaman Hatem Zahran in which Sherif played the starring role. It is based on a true story about a group of prisoners of war who were not killed with the scriptwriter being one of them.
On the other hand, Sherif returns to comedy through the film Ali Fawk al Shagarah (Ali on Top of the Tree) which is about a person who insists on applying the law and justice on everybody even his closest relatives. He overlooks looking after his son to discover suddenly that he is on the brink of becoming lost, so he begins to rescue him.
Meanwhile, Sherif is gearing up for starring the new series Khaled bin al Walid which he will provide to the radio broadcasting service next Ramadhan and to the TV in Ramadhan after the next.
Also, Sherif is gearing up for a tour including Lebanon, Algeria, Jordan, New Jersey and Los Angeles to portray his play Lan Taskot al Kuds (Jerusalem Won’t Fall) particularly in view of marked success it recorded.
Sherif will present a TV program entitled Maa’a Nour al Sherif (With Nour al Sherif). He told the daily al Gomhuria, “the program constitutes a film analysis and shedding light on the problems I faced in addition to reevaluating the artists. It is not about cinema alone but it is possible that we will discuss a political and a social issue through it also.” -- e4bb4c.com
