Nabila Ebeid Keeps Souvenirs from Her Lovers in ‘Kasakis Alushak’The renowned Egyptian actress Nabila Ebeid has wrapped up her role in the new film “Kasakis Alushak” (Clippings from Lovers), in which she performs the role of a dancer who keeps bits of her ex-lovers’ shirts as souvenirs. The dancer suddenly decides to make a mattress out of these shreds of cloth, and vows to forget about the past and start a new life. At that moment, she meets a new lover, Hussein Fahmi, with whom she tastes true love for the first time. Work on the film, which was composed by Wahid Hamed and directed by Said Marzouk, has seen these two butt heads over some of the films’ scenes. Despite the fact that the film has been finished, it has not yet been screened, since Wahid Hamed has threatened to withhold his name from the film ads and its introduction. He has said that this is one of his rights if he finds any substantial deviation from what his original script. Hamed told the London-based Al Sharq Al Awsat, “I won’t hesitate for a moment to disown this film and demand that my name be omitted from its posters and introduction. I won’t also be reluctant to resort to a suit to prove my rights if I discover any changes in the film’s theme.” For her part, Nabila has tried to mediate between the two, since she believes that “there are no basic differences in the film’s ‘family,’ and it is just a figment of Wahid Hamed's imagination that the director has changed the film's idea.” “This has not been the case, but the director has his own point of view on the characters’ performance and the scenario. I believe Marzouk has been keen enough on implementing the ideas of Hamed and the theme he seeks,’’ added the mega star. The top Egyptian star has asked Hamed to wait and see the first version before he takes any action.
