Jordanian Film Distributors Refuse Buying ‘Ayyam Assadat’Despite the approval of the Jordanian authorities on screening the film Ayyam Assadat (Sadat Days) starring Ahmed Zaki, which has recently been screened in Cairo, the Jordanian distributors decided not to buy it, according to the UAE daily Al Bayan. The distributors said that they did not think of buying the film for their inability to market it. They said that the current circumstances in the region does not help profitable marketing as the film tackles Jerusalem issue which spurred the Aqsa Intifada in which hundreds of Palestinians were killed and thousands were wounded. The distributors pointed out that the Palestinian territories currently face the worst form of oppression and terrorism by the Israeli assault war machine while the film explores the visit of the late Egyptian president Anwar Assadat to Jerusalem. “The film producer dealt with Ayyam Al Sadat exactly like the film Nasser 56 particularly with regard to price, but he should recognize that there is a big difference between both subjects,” one of the producers said. However, a number of Arab countries have refused the screening of the film in their countries including Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Libya -- 82f2b3.com ‘Wedding by Presidential Decree’ Calls for Change of RegimeThe Egyptian comedy film Gawaz Bi Qarar Gomhuri (Wedding by Presidential Decree) includes a call for the president to change the regime for the interests of the working class in the country.Sadat’s Ghost Threatens Comedy FilmsThe Egypt Distribution Company is asking three comedy stars, Adel Imam, Mohammed Heneidi and Alaa Waley Eddin, to postpone the release of at least one of their films to lessen box-office competition this summerEgyptian Box Office Receipts to Fuel IntifadaThe team behind a new Egyptian movie, Ashab Wala Business (Friends or Business), has decided to contribute a day’s box office revenues each week to the Palestinian cause.Medhat Saleh and Anoshka …Stars of the Police BlotterSingers Medhat Saleh and Anoshka have inked an agreement with director Musa’d Foudah to costar in the new comedy series “Mawe’d Ma’a Al Shuhrah,”(Appointment With Fame)8- Meet The ParentsTagline: First Comes Love, Then Comes Interrogation.Greg Focker, Ben Stiller is head over heels Lebanese Films Convey Arab Suffering and Dreams to AmericaLebanese director John Shamoun and Palestinian director May al Masri conveyed Arab dreams and suffering to the heart of the US through the screening of the films in Boston.American Film about Iraq Shot in MoroccoShooting of the American TV film Life From Baghdad has recently started in the Moroccan Cities of Warzazat and Casablanca. |
