‘Field of Death’ Portrays Palestinians’ Insistence on Their IntifadaThe new Syrian TV film Haql al Mawt (The Field of Death) sheds light on the insistence of the Palestinian people to confront the Israeli arrogance and to go ahead with their Intifada, despite the continued Israeli oppression and tight siege imposed on the Palestinian cities, according to the daily Syria Times.The events of the film take place in an old quarter in the occupied city of Jerusalem. The film consists of two plots, the story of a Palestinian family comprising of the father, mother, two sons and a daughter, while the second is the story of an extremist Zionist woman who is eager to eliminate all races other than the Zionists. The Palestinian parents lose one of their sons in the Palestinian Intifada which erupted in 1987. The second son fells martyr in Al Aqsa Intifada. Despite the loss of their two children, the parents remain adherent to their national objectives, especially liberation of their occupied Palestinian territories. The insistence of the parents to press ahead with their struggle is shown in a very impressive way: the mother sews two Palestinian flags in order to flank the bodies of her two dead sons during their funerals. The Jewish woman represents the Zionist devastating plan which aims to eliminate the existence of the Palestinian people through mass killing and expulsion. But the film shows that the Intifada is a strong weapon that is not easy to be extinguished.
