Raghda to Play Role of Palestinian Martyr’s MotherSyrian actress Raghda has been tapped for the role of a martyr’s mother in a new movie about the Palestinian uprising, or Intifada, against 34 years of Israeli military occupation. The movie, entitled Shahid Al Quds (The Martyr of Jerusalem), will be produced and directed by Abdullah Al Mesbahi, according to ArabStars.Net. Mesbahi, a Moroccan, has directed several political movies that did not achieve the hoped-for success. The new movie is expected to gain a wider audience through association with the uprising. Raghda will play the role of a Palestinian mother who offers the lives of her children for the Palestinian cause. She earlier performed a song backing the Intifada and visited Palestinians refugees camps in south Lebanon to look into the situation there.
